Skawen was founded in the old town of Tallinn when our co-founders, Ragnar and Sten, met for the first time.
At that time, Ragnar Paat had been working in the #HVAC industry for the past 15 years, he had a wealth of experience, and he knew all the players in the local industry, particularly in the area of Northern Europe and Russia.
Sten Mogard had decades of experience in the automotive industry. He had experience in setting up production plants from scratch. He had successfully founded and set up two manufacturing plants in Estonia, which today employ around 400 individuals.
Skawen was born by bringing the best of these two industries together.
The automotive industry had #production systems, quality control, and process optimization techniques that could be adapted to the HVAC industry, which historically has had less focus on these areas.
By bringing this automotive expertise to the HVAC industry, (which is traditional and mostly old-fashioned), we were able to innovate our designs and service offerings.
From the very beginning, we did not want to be just ‘another metal bending company’. That is why we have heavily focused on innovating our products. Instead of metal, we are using composite material, which has resulted in AHUs that are lighter, less noisy, and visually attractive. At the same time, we are fully compliant with ErP 2018 for #energy consumption.
By combining the expertise of our co-founders and partners, Skawen can offer a unique perspective on HVAC solutions that sets us apart from other companies in the industry.
