Project description
The Huddinge project originally started as an environmental initiative due to low air temperatures compared to water temperatures, as well as inadequate air handling flows. Existing air handling units were of the "Heatpipe" type, which performed poorly with temperature efficiency rates of approximately 50%.
For the main pool, 2 new parallel dehumidification units were installed, each with integrated heat pumps, to both heat the supply air and warm pool water, all aimed at minimizing energy consumption. Heatingcoils in each unit provide additional heating during low outdoor temperatures to compensate for transmission loss for the building. Similar dehumidification units located in the attic supply the teaching pool with the same functionality. Additionally, another air handling unit serves the ceiling of the main swimming pool and technical rooms for water treatment. All units are equipped with Skawen controllers in a Modbus system connected to the Skawen Cloud.
